Hi blog world sorry that i suck at updating.

I went back to work end of march and went back out of work first of may.. The reason a nice infection called CMV. It sucks my guess is that it feels like you have mono since my doc said its the cousin to mono.. per the doc it can be fatal for peeps who are pregnant and those who have had transplants. I have not left the house except to go for doctors appointments and labs since april 1st ..

This gave me a ton of time to think and a ton of time to realize the more time I have to think the more time I have to get depressed. I am not sure if I am the only person who battles this who has had a transplant and I am not ashamed to say I battle this either. Everyone has hang ups and baggage I know as a transplant patient I have to make sure I do not let things harm my health. Depression can do that so If you are having issues with it as well make sure to tell your doctor. There is no reason to be ashamed to tell them. They can send you in the right direction to get help. You can also google and get the number to a hotline in your area.

now on to something better. I am walking in the national kidney walk in Atlanta. I am also part of Team Grizz. Grizz Chapman plays grizz on nbc’s 30 rock and he is the national chairman for the kidney foundation. The walk is on may 21 at the turner field ( aka the ted). My wife and I are both walking and I am proud that we are. It is the day after our wedding anniversary and I almost did not make it to the day. I was surfing facebook today and a friend of mine that she became a friend of Taylor’s Gift. Now I started reading about this site and I was blown away. It is about a family and the org that they have created after their daughter Taylor passed and became a organ donor. This is strong stuff folks and I highly suggest reading it.

Sorry I havent been updating alot lately. I will fix that. I am currently working on getting a webpage created for men who are going thru the transplant process. Alot of the info out there are sites that are ran by a great strong group of females and while this is awsome and they have alot of information I have found that I can only take so many butterflies and ribbons. Green Ribbons are a symbol of the transplant family but we as men also need a place where we can discuss freely issues that we are worried about. I know when I was going thru my transplant I became very emotional , not something alot of men will talk about i want to be that place for information..

Please pray for me and soon I will put up my story . I am also working on getting my story out there.

May 2011 be the best year ever but 2010 will be hard to trump. For all the donor familys and organ recips I wish you the best of 2011 and forever ..

If you can please lift up the people who are still on the list waiting for a transplant and there is no greater gift than being a organ donor so if you are not signed up please do .. it is false that doctors will not do all they can to save your life if something bad happens … and your family is still asked for permission for you to be a organ donor.. make sure your family knows your wishes ..

Greetings everyone .. Not sure how many people read my blog so if you do and feel like it respond to this post .. Trying to see if this is helpful for anyone or if i am just wasting my time ..

If you are on the transplant list and if your afraid of needles well I feel for you because you are going to be stuck so many times your arms have a chance to look like mine after surgery. I had alot of bruises before transplant but wow it was really bad after.

They stick you sometimes 2x a day and they are looking for your Creatine level, Billrubin level, and PT Inr level. One of the last labs I had done my scores in order above was 1.16 mg/dl , .8 mg/dl and 1.01 which made me extremly happy. I got so used to the sticks because I would also get a shot two times twice a day. One of those shots stung like a yellow jacket after a bulldog. All of the lab techs i have seen between the two hospitals I frequent have been mondo nice and they are doing the best they can in sometimes a very hard day.

First all I would like to thank Christin Nielsen for comming up with the graphics and such for the shirts. She is awsome .. Not sure how many people who read this blog follow me on facebook but the day I was told that a donor liver has been found and i have 8 hours before surgery was crazy. I called my wife then my sister and then I decided to tell facebook. Now i was totally stressed so for some reason I decided to post a silly message in the design of Weather watch that some of the news channels in atlanta do. Thus Liver watch 2010 was created. I am sorry this post may be all over and probably will not be very easy to follow but well this is my blog and I am not the best writer out there .. I was a music major in college and now I am a software engineer and well frankly my mind works to fast.

So without further ado here we go ..

I have met alot of people thru facebook that are either donor family or transplant recips. These people are strong, caring and mean alot to me. Its so strange to feel that way when 3 months ago I was always so bah humbug and now I am so different.

Heather is the strongest woman I know. She takes so good care of me and is always so worried. God blessed me when I met her back in college. She is the love of my life.

Staci my sister is the 2nd strongest woman I know , tied with my mom but Staci has always been there for our family. She is strong, caring and if she only liked sports she would be the sister everyone should have.

Emory Transplant clinic — This place is amazing. I cant think of her name right now but the first person you meet when you come into the clinic is the nicest person. You can tell she cares about everyone that walks into the clinic and she has treated me better than any other person at a doctors office.

Speaking of clinic I now go back once every 2 weeks with going to piedmont for labs 2x a week. I was even told I can possibly go to the atlanta falcons playoff games.

Speaking of Falcons .. Wow what a year .. Speaking of football Wow Georgia Tech can you be any worse this year , I still support you and bleed white and gold but wow what a year ..

I was told I can probably start driving in 3 weeks , Thats nice .. i havent driven in ohhh 5 months .. I wonder if i still know how to.

I am sure I will have more to post this afternoon but well I am hungry and going to go find some food.
